Prospercare has negotiated special rates and packages for their members with Martin’s. Members of Prospercare are not compelled to make use of Martin’s should they prefer another provider. With 160 branches country wide, assistance with claim documents and submission can be done at any branch of choice

The Prospercare Funeral Policy

How far would you go to protect yourself, immediate and extended family?

We do what we can to ensure our family is taken care of. Who else will take care of them when we are gone? With Prospercare’s funeral plan you can cover your whole family including your 2nd spouse, foster children and extended family members.

OUR PROCESS

  • Claims will be settled within 48 hours if all the necessary document are received and properly certified
  • Paid up certificates will be issued to the spouse after the principal member’s death
  • All members need to submit a completed application form, with the correct details and Identity numbers, to enable us to assess the risk of the family and extended members they have elected and see that the correct premium is allocated
  • Prospercare does not deduct any premiums from the member’s salary it is done by his/her company
  • A member has 60 days to pay in the arrears before the policy lapses (arrangements to be made with payroll)
  • It stays the member’s responsibility to see that contribution are done correctly and deducted from their salary

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • At inception of the R10 000 and R15 000 option a waiting period of 3 (three) months will apply for the basic family, accidental death excluded
  • At inception of the R20 000 option a waiting period of 6 (six) months will apply for the basic family, accidental death excluded
  • An additional waiting period of 3 (three) months will apply for immediate family should cover be increased from R10 000 to R15 000 or from R15 000 to R20 000
  • An additional waiting period of 6 (six) months will apply for immediate family benefits should cover increase from R10 000 to R20 000.
  • During the above waiting period for the increased benefit, the original benefit options will be paid in the case of death provided that the waiting period has been completed.
  • Plan B on Extended Family is only available on the R15 000 & R20 000 options
  • In the event of increased cover on Extended family members standard waiting period will apply
  • Extended family members on Plan A and Plan B will be subject to standard waiting periods at inception

VALUE PLUS

Prospercare now offers the following "Value Plus" services to our members:

| Paid-Up Policy

Paid-up benefit remains R10 000 on ALL options. At members death, cover for spouse until principal member’s retirement age of 65 and children up to the age 21 at NO additional cost.

| Maternity Benefit

Providing cover for basic family while on leave

| 3 Months grace period

On notification of sick leave a 3 (three) month grace period will be granted.

| Foster Parent Benefit

Benefit paid as per basic family, for own children NOT legally adopted, below 19 years.

| Trust Fund

R1.50 per policy contribution is donated by Prospercare to a trust fund for the exclusive use by the Union members for sponsorships etc.

| Individual Policy

Should a member resign from the group scheme he has the option to continue on the individual scheme

| Beef Product

This benefit will, on the death of the member and/or immediate family dependent and on approval of such submitted claim, produce delivery of a beef livestock or butchery voucher per life as per the Beef Schedule and categories’ table specified on the application form to the premises within South Africa selected by the Beneficiary.
